Alias (.wire) Import

 

Autodesk Alias products are used for Industrial Design, Reverse Engineering and Automotive Design.

Import

 

To open, import, insert, and attach a file as a worksession

  • From the File menu, click Open or Import.

  • In the Open dialog box, select the Autodesk Alias wire file type.

  • If the import can be configured, click the Options button to specify import settings.

  • Click the Open button. or press the Enter key.

    Note: When Rhino opens a non-3dm model, the title bar reflects the name of the model that was opened. When the model is saved for the first time, this model name is entered as the file name.

    • Requirements

     

  • Autodesk Alias 2027.0.1 64bit version or above should be installed.
  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2022 Redistributable for x64 or above. Download the files from https://aka.ms/vc14/vc_redist.x64.exe

    • License

     

    A license manager utility will pop up automatically during the first use. Perpetual licenses are not available. Instead a subscription for 1 year costs USD 99. Please click on trial subscription for a 30 day trial. Click Buy subscription to buy licenses. Once the subscription purchase has been completed, click on activate subscription to activate subscription. An Internet connection is need for activating and subscribing.
