SilverHawk — Terms of Use (End-User License Agreement)
Version 0.6.36

1. Nature of the license. SilverHawk is proprietary freeware. It is licensed, not sold. Copyright and all intellectual property rights remain with Luciano Ambrosini.

2. Grant. You may use SilverHawk free of charge for individual, academic, research and commercial design projects, including use in a company, studio or university. A personal license key, obtained once by registering with your e-mail address, activates the solver components. The key is not tied to hardware, so it can be re-entered after changing computer or reinstalling Windows.

3. Restrictions. Without written permission you may not sublicense, resell, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the plug-in binaries (the .gha file and its libraries), including on other sites or mirrors, nor share your license key. Official downloads are available only through food4Rhino, the Rhino Package Manager and the project website.

4. Data. SilverHawk itself collects nothing and sends no usage data. The license key is validated offline on your computer. Data given in the registration form are processed as described in the privacy notice at https://silverhawk.pages.dev/download#privacy .

5. Your responsibility. Optimization results depend on your model. The built-in benchmarks serve to test and compare settings; they do not replace the simulation of a real design. You are responsible for checking any result you rely on. You may publish results obtained with SilverHawk; citing the User Guide (doi:10.5281/zenodo.23734488) is appreciated.

6. No warranty and liability. SilverHawk is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, the licensor is not liable for any damage arising from its use. Nothing in this agreement limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Third-party components and data. SilverHawk includes third-party libraries under their own licenses (see THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt) and benchmark surrogate models trained on the dataset of Zorn, Claus, Frenzel and Wortmann (2025), Energy & Buildings 336, 115562, doi:10.18419/darus-4532, licensed CC BY 4.0. Rhino and Grasshopper are trademarks of Robert McNeel & Associates.

8. Other versions. These terms apply to version 0.6.36 and to copies of it you have already obtained. The licensor may offer later versions under different terms.
